Rayce Risch - Color Guard Director

From Houston Texas, Rayce has been a dedicated member of the performing arts since before he began his high school career. Rayce has been playing and teaching concert piano for over 10 years. He attended Hardin High where he marched alto saxophone, synthesizer, and was drum major for two years; he also marched the winter guard at Hardin as well. During concert season, Rayce had attended state contest in Solo and Ensemble for multiple years, where he played the alto saxophone as well. After leaving high school, he attended McNeese State University for music education, and focused on strictly marching with the color guard and winter guard. After he moved to Austin Texas, he marched with Origins Independent, which is an open class organization, and Invictus Independent, which is a world class organization.
Now living in Austin, Rayce plans to attend ACC, Texas State and UT, to pursue not only a bachelors in dance, but a doctorate in physical therapy. Rayce was recommended by previous director, Brock Gayaut, and has high hopes for the Akins Eagle color guard and winter guard! While on his educational journey, Rayce plans to share his passion and knowledge with this guard for as long as he can! Accompanied by his assistant, Manuel Ayala, he believes in creating a genuine and ambitious community within the ranks of this program, for years to come!
