W. Charles Akins HS Band Booster Assoc.

Purpose

​The Booster organization, a 501c3 non-profit entity, exists solely for the purposes of:
  • Encouragement, support, and promotion of the W. Charles Akins High School Band, including but not limited to:
    • Marching Band
    • Concert Bands
    • Jazz Bands
    • Color Guard
  • Promotion, Stimulation, and maintenance of interest in the W. Charles Akins High School Band within the community;
  • Stimulation of fellowship and cooperation amongst the Booster membership in order to focus on the the moral and financial support of the W. Charles Akins High School Band.
The Association commits itself to cooperate with all school administration for both maintaining and building a strong band program, and for the promotion of general activities which pertain to the band in accordance with UIL guidelines for Booster Organizations.

How can I get involved?

We have many areas where we need your help.  It is not necessary for you to commit a lot of your time, but if each parent can commit to just a few hours over the course of the season, we will be able to accomplish so much more to support the overall program. See the Volunteering section of the Parent Information page. for more details and to sign up.

Booster Membership dues are an important part of supporting the band program.  Regular members have the privilege of making motions, voting, and holding office.  Proceeds from the tiered membership drive (sign up on Shopping Day) will be used to fund Scholarships for Akins Seniors and need-based scholarships.
